Solitude

I was recently challenged to spend 4-6 hours alone in solitude, just God and I. I am pretty good about my time alone with Jesus, but I never go to this long of an extent. So, I set out on the challenge with me, my journal, and a camera. What a day! I remembered Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, just before His arrest. Not only did He ask His closest friends to pray, but He went out alone to pray in solitude. In short, He was terrified of what was to come (pain, suffering, crucifixion), and literally sweated blood. We often see Jesus go to places alone to talk and hear from His Father. So shouldn't we as well?

I was challenged to spend four hours meditating on a passage in Phillippians and i realized how often we take that time for granted. I always told myself i was too busy or i couldn't sit in meditation for that duration of time. But after doing it i realized how amazing it really is! It's great to hear that you had an amazing experience as well. -]
