love and trust=results

hello there friends,
my name is wes and this is a brief story of past, present, and future. i am a nerdy kid who grew up skateboarding and chasing girls. in 1995 i came in 7th place overall in california in the amatuer skateboard league. i received some good sponsors and thought i was well on my way to stardom. after injuries that would not heal, i had to step away. i never payed any attention in school so what was i to do. it was now 2001, and after many pointless retail jobs i started to wonder, is this it? on september 11, 2001 our nation's safety was at risk and what better time to go play army and get some free college money? i spent 4 years in the u.s. army and met incredible people, one of which became my fiance. through watching her and her family, i became interested in Jesus Christ.

on february 9, 2005 i was sitting in a lasik eye surgeon's office, for the second time. the first time i was turned down for the surgury. the story started to look the same and then i prayed! i asked Jesus if he could really heal the blind, prove it! all of a sudden the doctor came in the room and agreed to do the surgury. i gave my life to the Lord that day and it was the best decision ever. i lost my fiance, but became incredibly close with the Lord and have met many wonderful friends, which will be there for life.

God had put it on my heart in early 2006 to become a pastor. I was working in a 90k a year job and had a serious decision to make. I quit my job this january and returned to scholl full-time at the age of 26. for some reason the Lord had called me to go to san diego christian college, but i didn't know why. well, after deciding to go on faith, a huge suprise was unveiled to me a few weeks ago. my mentor and lead pastor of seven, jeremy mcgarity, and dear friend roberto comparan decided to open their own church in where else, san diego. i'm amazed at how God works.

so, anyone who doesn't understand what the Lord is doing sometimes be patient. read romans 8:28 and jeremiah 29:11 and maybe things will become clear. I am so excited to embark on this new journey with friends, mentors, and having my savior Jesus Christ at the wheel while we all sit blind folded in the back. I love God!!!
